LARRY A. BENNETT, CLU®, ChFC®, MSFS, CFP®

FOUNDER

Larry Bennett was born and raised in Long Beach, California. He is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Business Administration. After college, he began his insurance career in March 1980 with New York Life, and continues to this day with the Anaheim General Office

In addition to his degree from Long Beach State, Larry also completed his Chartered Life Underwriter degree in 1984 and his Chartered Financial Consultant degree in 1985. In June 1998, he finished his Masters of Science in Financial Services. All degrees are awarded by the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Larry has also earned the degree of Certified Financial Planner CFP® since they won the public relations battle.

He is a thirty-three time Million-Dollar Round Table qualifier. He is also a Lifetime Member of New York Life Councils. The South Coast General Agents and Managers Association named him Agent of the Year in January 1996. Forbes named Larry a best in State Top Financial Security Professional in 2022 and 2023. He has been honored nine times by Five Star Wealth Manager.

Along with his production achievements, Larry is actively involved in several industry and community organizations. He is Past President of North Orange County NAIFA, Past President of Fullerton Sunrise Rotary, President of NYL AAC in 2000 – 2001, former Board Member of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, and past Chairman of his Church Finance Committee. He is a Former Planning Commissioner for the City of Fullerton and currently serves as an Eagle Scout advisor with Troop 93 in Fullerton and the Valencia District of the Orange County Council BSA. He serves on the Finance committee for Tara’s Chance, an Equine therapy non-profit.

Larry is a single dad. His 34-year-old son David graduated from CSUF, and his 30 year-old daughter Laura graduated from Harding University in Searcy Arkansas with a BSN. Larry has collected classic cars, and plays an occasional bad round of golf. Larry has more recently gotten back into horse back riding and has a Horse named Orzo in Norco CA. Larry loves to spend free time traveling and spending time with close friends and family. His passions are Politics, hiking and horses. He hates to exercise, but he needs to, so he tries to make time for it as a part of his normal routine.

DAVID BENNETT

Agent

David grew up in Fullerton CA, graduating from Fullerton High School and CSUF in 2011 with a degree in human services. In high school he went to work at In-n-Out Burger at Store 77. While in college he was promoted to the corporate customer service department where he quickly became a professional apologizer and problem solver. He steadily grew in that position and eventually held the titles of CSR II, CSR III, Senior Customer Service Associate and Lead Customer Service Associate. He ended his time with In-n-Out training and managing the new associates.

After a successful 17-year career with In-n-Out, David decided to join Bennett Financial & Insurance Services where he is building his practice helping individuals, families and businesses protect what matters most and developing plans to achieve their financial dreams. David approaches every client meeting with a servant and teacher’s heart.

David’s community involved include Boy Scouts where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Fullerton Troop 93. In Scouts he held the then current backpacking record with over 700 miles. During that time, he successfully completed the John Muir Trail of 222 miles from Mt. Whitney to Yosemite Valley. David also worked as a volunteer for Comfort Zone Camp and has participated in numerous In-n-Out foundation events like the golf tournament fundraiser and kids Christmas party.

While David is very busy in his financial services practice, he does like to spend time with family and close friends. Travel is his other favorite pastime.

MARY SMITH

OFFICE MANAGER

Mary Smith has deep roots in Orange County and with Bennett Financial and Insurance< Services. After graduating from Troy High School in Fullerton before going to Fullerton College, Mary spent time in the interior design business before taking a short break to raise 3 children. She joined Bennett Financial more than 33 years ago. While she spent some time as an agent, raising children as a single parent was her higher calling. We convinced her to join us as our office manager, and she has been the heart and soul of our staff. She has trained more than 10 staff members that have served our clients over these many years. She is often the person who takes an initial call or is quickly looped in by other staff members when more complicated questions arise. When not serving our clients, she is planning elegant or casual events for family and friends. She's been recognized by many non-profit organizations for her event planning skills, including the Steve Magiocco Humanitarian of the year by the Fullerton Sunrise Rotary.

KAREN TANK

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Originally from the Bay Area, Karen was raised in Yorba Linda, California. She graduated magna cum laude from Cal State Fullerton and brings over 20 years of personal/executive administrative experience.

Karen is a hardworking and versatile Administrative Assistant with proven organizational skills and an extensive background in a variety of office administration duties and office management software.

Competencies include record keeping, document management, personnel support, and report presentation.

Karen has 2 adult children and a very large extended family which she loves spending time with regularly.

Travel, quilting, pickleball as well as binge-watching the latest television series is how she enjoys spending her time.
